Accept it or not, we all have been intrigued by the number 13 at some point in our lives; be it the days when your grandma asked you to stay home on Friday the 13th or the days when your neighbor fed your ears with the superstitious belief that says if you have 13 letters in your name, you’re bound to have the devil’s luck. Why? Well, let’s just say that’s a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

Now let’s cut to the chase and speak of the best supernatural T.V series. We often find ourselves in a situation where finding a good supernatural TV show proves to be a dull experience as they lack darkness, mystery, and thrill which are considered to be the essence of the supernatural. But we bring you 13 of the most addictive supernatural TV shows which will keep you biting your nails and get you hooked to the edges of your chair.




1. Lost Girl

You will certainly get lost in this amazing television show. This series focuses on the gorgeous woman Bo, who is also a supernatural being called a succubus who feeds the sexual energy of humans; and how she fights the underworld group of other supernatural beings known as Faes in order to find the truth about her mysterious origins. It is a great show with its minimal effects, more character development, and a good story-line with some dash of sexiness. If you haven’t given this show a chance, then you should. Right now! Just watch this show and find yourself blown away by the kickass actions done by Anna Silk.

2. The Vampire Diaries

Let’s just say this television series will get you hooked definitely if you’re a fan of vampires. The series follows the life of two Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon (I bet you read it Demon in the first place), and a teenage girl, Elena Gilbert, who is torn between the two Salvatore brothers. This series isn’t the replica of the book by L.J Smith and is completely different. And honestly, giving a shot to this series is worth it! Though the first few episodes are a bit slow, the show just starts getting better from episode 2 or 3. There is not a single character that is not likable. Unbelievably gorgeous is the word that defines every single character of this show. You get to see a lot of romance, teen drama, magical happenings, mystery, and danger. And well, all that’s because of excellent storytelling and wonderful acting of the actors. So give it a shot and find yourself in this supernatural journey of vampires, witches, and werewolves.

3. The Originals

This television series is a spin-off from The Vampire Diaries. It follows the story of the Mikaelson siblings, also known as the original vampires namely Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah. They return to New Orleans to get back the city they helped build and dominate all those who have done them wrong. The show has an excellent cast, characters, and storyline. The episodes are dark and dig deeper into explaining the character’s background and helps you understand the story of the Originals family. To watch Klaus argue with his siblings is as usual fun and Elijah’s love for his family is heart-warming. This series is highly recommended to those who like stories with mature plots and less teenage drama; and this show will allure you in a place no less mysterious than New Orleans.

4. American Horror Story

This show is a treat to the eyes if you consider yourself a real horror fan. It is an anthology FX original series that centers on different characters and spooky locations. Each episode is weird, creepy, and will leave you screaming to a sudden end with its well-written story-line. So grab your popcorn at night and find yourself on a never-ending trip to an insane asylum, a witch coven, a house with a murderous past, and other such eerie sites.

5. Being Human

What happens when a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost share a house and try to live a normal life? It conveys that like normal people, these supernatural creatures also have to go through some difficult phases. Can they rise above? Or will they lead a forever miserable life? To find the answers to these questions, give this show a watch. You won’t regret it and that’s a promise. Also, the chemistry among the characters makes you believe they are good friends in real life as well.

6. Teen Wolf

This is the show where werewolves get the spotlight. The story is about the awkward teen Scott McCall as his life changes forever after he is bitten by a werewolf and becomes one himself and the danger that comes along with being a Lycan.  Not a single episode of this show is boring and promises darkness mixed with humor. We get to discover amazing actors/actresses, especially Dylan O’Brien who plays Stiles Stillinski in the show. He has his way with sarcasm and delivers his role gracefully. Also, the show wouldn’t have been successful if it weren’t for the other casts who also do their job with perfection. So yes, if you’re a sucker for shows which has both darkness and humor placed in the right places, this show wouldn’t bore you.

7. True Blood

The series follows the story of Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress, and how her life is turned upside down after she runs into the mysterious Bill, a southern Louisiana vampire. You will like the genre of horror and supernatural as the take on vampire legend is different. The acts, looks, and casts are top-notch. Some people may find the show disturbing since it’s a little more than an “R” rated show, but it all depends on the viewer’s choice. The show promises to keep you intrigued till the end of the season finale. This proves to be an excellent show only if you’re a vampire lover.

8. The X-Files

What’s more addictive than alcohol? The X-Files undoubtedly! The series follows two FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully who investigate cases dealing with unexplained paranormal phenomena. This show brought entertainment to a whole new level back in 1993 with intelligent scenarios, plots, and casts. The perfect combination of sci-fi, horror, and reality drama present will immediately draw you in. Once you start watching this series, your love for this show will keep on growing.

9. The Walking Dead

Run in the opposite direction cuz Zombies are coming! Yes, this is a show you wouldn’t wanna leave for popcorn or even if you’re in a dire need to pee (Just kidding). The end of each episode will leave you in anticipation for the next one. Also, the writing is incredible with amazing character development. So If you like zombies with good drama mixed with suspense, this show is just the right piece for you.

10. Beauty and the Beast

What’s beauty without a beast? This is a story about a detective who falls in love with an ex-soldier who goes into hiding from the secret government organization that turned him into a mechanically charged beast. The show got a mixed review and ratings from the viewers, but if you are in search of a show which includes a beastly romantic story-line, this show won’t disappoint you. Once you are at par with the past and present of the character’s background, the show will entertain you immensely.

11. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

No one slays vampire better than Buffy. The series centers on a young woman who is destined to slay vampires, demons, and other infernal creatures with the help of her friends. This is the show which will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love with the characters. Indeed this series is great fun to watch with its kick-ass lines and fully packed actions.

12. Angel

It is a spin-off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and mainly focuses on the vampire Angelus, also known as Angel, who has a human soul but with a terrible crime committed in the past. In order to look for redemption, he teams up with some old and new friends to eradicate the evil plaguing the city. The series is more dark and mature than BTVS. It is fully packed with action, great comedy-drama, and some really addictive music. It has five amazing seasons that will last with you forever. So give your time to this gem of a show and watch Angel at its best.

13. Supernatural

And last for the best, tada! Supernatural it is! After all, what’s supernatural without the show Supernatural? This television series is about the two Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, raised by their father, John, to hunt the creatures of the night and fight the evil after his wife, Mary was killed by supernatural beings when the boys were young. The spooky plots from the first episode itself will hold your attention, making you want to know more about supernatural creatures. The show has just the right amount of darkness, humor, and action sited in the right places. And then the tad bits of humorous remarks/jokes made by the Winchester brothers will instantly make you fall in love with them, and not to forget that the very attractive men in the cast are always a plus. 😉
